Giant Puppet: Senator William Proxmire who authored the Community Reinvestment Act in 1977 which prohibits discrimination against minority neighborhoods by banks.
'Thousands gathered at Chavis Park in Raleigh in support of a 14 point agenda which focuses on North Carolina's health, education, and social programs. The group marched over one mile to the State Legislature. The Council was one of over 80 organizations who sponsored this event.
