COUNCIL FOCUS:

The Council affirms that all people, including persons with disabilities, should be welcomed and included in faith communities. In addition, the Council works to support legislation which reduces discrimination against people with disabilites and which helps them obtain needed services.

WHY PEOPLE OF FATIH SHOULD CARE:

People who are poor, who lack adequate housing, are often not very influential in our democracy. So the task of people of faith who do have influence is two-fold: first, to use that influence on issues which will benefit the poor, and second, to help empower those who lack influence better to speak out for themselves.
