- Start by monitoring your power bills. Obtain a year of past usage, then start to track the kWh (electricity) and therms (natural gas and propane you use month by month.
- Post a chart on your refrigerator and watch your CARBS ~ carbon dioxide emissions—go down as you install compact fluorescent light bulbs, programmable thermostat and power strips that let you turn off appliances when not in use.
